It is preferred that you wear loose, baggy clothes to allow free range of motion. Acceptable tops are tank tops, dance tops, and t-shirts. Bottoms can be joggers, sweatpants, dance pants, shorts, leggings, and other athletic wear. Shoes must be clean sneakers, tennis shoes, or dance shoes. These shoes cannot be worn outside as every day wear in order to keep our dance floors clean.

Jazz

Dance attire should be fitted to the body. Leotard as the top (black or assigned ballet grade color), pink tights, and full sole pink ballet shoes are required.

Stretching/ Tumbling /Leaps & Turns

Dance attire should be fitted and comfortable. Tops that are accepted are tank tops, dance tops, leotards, or a fitted tee. Bottoms can be athletic shorts or leggings. Shoes can be dance paws, half sole shoes, or bare feet. Tights are not required and no socks to avoid slipping. Tumbling belts are required for tumbling classes.

In order to maintain a professional environment, we require all dancers to follow TLDW - Dance Hive's dress code. Not adhering to dress code will result in dismissal from class. If you have any questions about the dress code, please visit the front desk or contact the studio. Some dance supplies may be purchased at the studio.

Lyrical/Contemporary

Dance attire should be fitted to the body. Tops such as tank tops, leotards, dance tops, and fitted tees are accepted. Bottoms can be shorts or leggings. Shoes can be half sole shoes, dance paws, dance socks, or bare feet. Tights are not required for this style of dance.

Hair 

A bun with hair slick back away from the face for ballet class. A ponytail or bun is required for lyrical, contemporary, jazz, hip hop, and tumbling classes. Short hair must be pulled back away from the face by using a headband, hair clips, or bobby pins.
